섭지코지의 섭지는 인재가 많이 나올만한 지형이라는 의미이며 코지는 육지에서 바다쪽으로 툭 튀어나온 지형이라는 '곶' 이라는 단어의 제주방언입니다.
성산일출봉과 더불어 오래전부터 아름다운 제주풍경을 상징하던 곳으로,
최근에는 아쿠아리움과 올인성당 글라스하우스등이 더해져
사람들의 발길을 모으고 있는 곳입니다.
